Still on Vacation

My body is back at work, but my mind is still on vacation.

What an incredible five days that was – between the beach house and the Radiohead concert.

The quality is horrible – I shot this with my Tilt – but what could I do? At least I got this much. This is from the band’s performance of Weird Fishes / Arpeggi.

What a show. As it turns out, this was the last stop on the US leg of their tour. What a venue to see them in? We were in the “Preferred” section (thank you generous, anonymous SB Bowl Board member for your help with tickets), just forward and right of the sound board. The sound and picture are wack. I think I blew out the mic on the recording device.

  2. your conclusion on the mexican-american war and the conflict in georgia is actually incorrect. it sounds like you are trying to justify the russian argument for why they diliberately caused the problem which they are now in. they baited the georgian’s and they bit. this way russia had a way to justify their actions. the problem really lies in the fact that the russians only have 1 warm water port for their naval fleet and they don’t want to be completely surrounded by nato and american influence. its a fact that doesn’t factor into that in-depth article you read in pravda east(new york times). georgia wants to be in and advicates nato. really the russian “sphere of influence” is in their minds. every country around russia hates them for what they did to them in the past especially under soviet controll. the russian’s are not even relevant anymore on a world stage. they know it. they feel short between the legs and its hard for them to see their advisaries in the west(especially the u.s)go on to be the giants we are in world policy and influence. they are only relevant because they have oil and energy resources that EUROPE needs and are capitalizing on inflated energy prices. they know we are held down in iraq and afganistan and feel bold. the truth of the matter is the us trained georgian army was giving them more than they could handle in the first 2 days of the conflict, but were overwhelmed when russians knew they were losing. had the georgian’s had a decent size army and resources, resources the us held off on supplying so not to inflame the situation in the region because of the missle shield we are going to build in czec rep and poland, the russians would have face humiliation on the scale of the soviet collapse or at the very least afganistan. isn’t afganistan where the russians had 250,000 troops that got smashed and left north with their tail between their legs, and where the american’s have less than 15,000 and are in control of?

  3. I am glad I am the last person to use the word “wack.” it heartens me to know I am such a rugged invidualist. As for listening to hip-hop and using “their” terminology, I will gladly do so all night long. I am now enjoying my 38th Reb Bull energy beverage. Huzzah, and thank you for your encouragement!
