According to a guy who saw it happen, the BMW – which still had Rusnak dealer plates – was heading northbound on Overland, trying to make it through the intersection with the eastbound I-10 onramp.

Of course, the same guy told me he pulled both female drivers from their burning vehicles moments before they simultaneously exploded (the cars, not the girls) in flames, so who knows.

The light was definitely red because the Civic had already begun turning left onto the onramp from the southbound side of Overland.

Traffic collision at this intersection seem to be a fairly common occurrence. There was the Upside Down Amigo back in March and yet another t-boned Civic just last month.
