Falcon Cameo in Confessions

I’m watching “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind” right now. I just watched the scene where all the western spies are exchanged for the one eastern spy. There is a close-up pan of all the American spies faces and I am almost certain one of them is actor Timothy Hutton. Early in his career Hutton co-starred with Sean Penn in Schlesinger’s 1985 film “The Falcon and the Snowman.”

Hutton plays the role of Christopher Boyce, a young TRW employee who gets caught selling sensitive US secrets to the Soviets. There is a scene toward the end of the film where Boyce, played by Hutton, and Daulton Lee, played by Penn, are sent back across the border from Mexico to US territory. The scene has a strong resemblance to the one in Confessions and, considering the other more notable cameos in the film (Brad Pitt, Matt Damon), I wonder if a less notable cameo might have gone unnoticed.

Certainly there are other “Easter Egg” references in the movie for the trained observer: the “Lee” and “Jack” characters from the training at “the Farm;” the use of Rosemary Clooney’s music.

I just asked Mr. Barris if he might be able to shed some light on this.

Guitar Hero Throws Guitar into Traffic

Not sure how substantiated this is, but Trail of Dead fans are reporting that band guitarist Kevin Allen got a bit frustrated during a friendly round of Guitar Hero in Austin on New Year’s Eve.

TrailofDead.org is reporting that Allen blasted a plasma tv with the guitar shaped game controller, then threw the game console out into traffic.
