Almost forgot! I shot 30 seconds of video of the Goleta Fire. Not much to see, except the enormous smoke cloud billowing a few hundred meters in front of the camera. It’s a notable shot simply because of our location and proximity to the smoke.
Sea Castle Apartment Building in Santa Monica

Here is a photo of the Sea Castle apartments in Santa Monica. The new Fontainbleu structure can be seen to its left and Shutters hotel is at the right edge of the frame.
“Originally opened as The Breakers Beach Club Hotel in 1926, the resort once hosted the likes of Jean Harlow, Maureen O’Sullivan, Greta Garbo and Frank Sinatra.” – from the official www.theseacastle.com website.

I’m Angry & God Bless Qwest
Ugh, I’m listening to Barbara Boxer’s speech from the senate floor from two weeks ago. It’s so frustrating to think that the White House would even ask the telcos to cooperate with a domestic spying program. It’s weird to think that all but one of them would cave. Why not all? Why would one hold out? It seems to defy the laws of commerce…
Great Beach Photo
I went for a walk on Saturday afternoon and wound up walking to the end of the Santa Monica municipal pier. I looked out at the beach and had to snap a picture.
This is what it looked like. Unfortunately, all I had with me was the camera in my phone, but it turned out okay. Actually seems to have a nice unintentional artistic lense effect. Not sure how that came about, but I like it.
