North Korea warns it ‘will attack South at 8.30am Saturday’ as Kim Jong-un declares state of war – Mirror Online

That give us about one more hour.

Well, there goes the neighborhood.

The world is waiting for the next move of crazed dictator Kim Jong-un, after he warned that North Korea’s military would attack the South at 8.30am on Saturday.

He told his troops last night to be ‘fully ready for war’ following an exchange of fire between the rival nations, declaring a ‘quasi-state of war’ and claiming that he will attack the South at 5pm Pyongyang time (8.30am UK time).

US, ROK Go To WATCHCON2

S. Korea concerned about further DPRK provocation over propaganda broadcasts | Shanghai Daily

So, according to GlobalSecurity.org, the US and South Korea haven’t gone to WATCHCON2 since June of 1999.

The WATCHCON, or Watch Condition to measure reconnaissance posture against the DPRK, was upgraded Friday after the exchange of fires between the two Koreas.

According to the article, there are four “Watch Conditions”:

  • WATCHCON 4 is in effect during normal peacetime.
  • WATCHCON 3 is in effect amidst indications of an important threat.
  • WATCHCON 2 is in effect amidst indications of a vital threat.
  • WATCHCON 1 is in effect during wartime.

I don’t know what they’re playing over that loudspeaker, but it seems to be irritating. I’ve read it’s a mix of gentle propaganda and Korean pop music. You can hear some of it if you’re interested, but you’ll need some kind of browser plugin to do so.

Reviewing the Ashley Madison Data (Initial Observations)

#1 It’s not Fake

I’m going through the Ashley Madison data and, first, I can confirm it is accurate. Right now, I won’t get in to how I know this. But, I’ll bet you can figure it out.

#2 It’s Enormous

There’s a lot of information to go through. There are ~36 million e-mail addresses. It’s taken me an hour to import the MySQL dump file, and I’m not sure I even want to export it to Excel (but, I’ll probably do it anyway).

#3 Low-Key, Yo

Some of the people on here will never get caught. In addition to all the people who used their real – and sometimes work – e-mail addresses (I’m looking at you, Tony Blair), there are also a lot of people trying to be discreet (like jon@meoff.net). Also, AM never required e-mail confirmation, so there’s a good chunk of bogus address in there.
