You never think about it, but with roughly 12 million people living in the area, Los Angeles’ 10% unemployment rate means there are 1.2 million people (roughly the city of Detroit) out of work and looking for jobs.
That’s 2.4 million idle hands. It’s kind of crazy to think about.
