Hospital cleaners are worth more to society than bankers, a study suggests.
The research, carried out by think tank the New Economics Foundation, says hospital cleaners create £10 of value for every £1 they are paid.

Indiana Republican Rep. Mark Souder announced Tuesday he would resign from Congress, effective Friday, because he had an affair with a staffer. Souder said in a statement provided by his office that he has “sinned against God, my wife and my family by having a mutual relationship with a part-time member of my staff.”

So, no new text books will omit references to the slave trade and Thomas Jefferson’s arguments in favor of separation of Church and State.
Which makes sense because, after all, Jefferson was a slave-owner.

At a time when the country is deeply divided over the proper role of government, what is Capitol Hill's appetite for a new, independent agency with broad power to police the financial industry and protect consumers from the risky lending practices that contributed so much to the financial crash of 2008?
It looks like they misled some people, and planted others. Altogether, it’s quite impressive. I like how they completely avoid mentioning what CFPA stands for (Consumer Financial Protection Agency).
